It’s been a real privilege to work on this new website for Village Farm. It’s not often that you get to be involved with a really inspiring project by a client who produces great copy and also has a seemingly endless supply of stunning photography! It makes life so much easier!
Village Farm is situated almost as far South as you can go in Devon – perched on the cliffs around East Portlemouth opposite Salcombe. Three years ago it was a windswept, misused and neglected coastal farm. Since then Becks, Tim and a supporting cast of dedicated ‘ologists’ have transformed this place in their journey to turn the farm into an “abundant, diverse landscape that produces nourishing, healthy, high welfare food with 100% traceability while simultaneously becoming a rich haven for all wildlife.”
Initially we were asked to provide a little advice on what to do with their existing website. This fairly quickly turned into a complete new-build! Not that we’ve done anything particularly fancy. The new site features loads more content and makes great use of the stunning wildlife and nature photography that only an ex BBC Natural History Unit camera-person and producer could create. We’ve replaced the Woo-Commerce online store with Shopify and we’ve sorted out the blog and numerous SEO issues. There’s a new press and publicity section and loads more information on the background to the Village Farm project, the animals and the wildlife of the area.
And that’s enough said – visit the Village Farm website and order some of their delicious organic, pasture-fed lamb!
